Thanks for the link, and it is true that this is something I could see us doing. How graphic design changes with time is something that we have always been interested in, and we have done quite a few experiments around this.

Here Sagmeister has made a wall of 10 000 green and yellow bananas, to see how the wall changes over time. What surprises me as well, is how perfectly all the bananas fit together, it must have been a challenge to pick out 10 000 that are all the same size.
 
I'm sure we will speak before, but have a nice Christmas! Hope there is snow over there in Stockholm.

Hello my friend MLE!

As you know, I posted on our Facebook page about the Chelsea Degree Show, which I went to a couple weeks ago.  Well, I said it was so good I would post about it again, so here we are. I love going to Degree Shows (or "Grad Shows" as we call them in Canada). Maybe it is because we had so much fun with our HUGE grad project that it brings back happy memories... :)

This time I will show you our brilliant intern Josiah Jones' project. First, check out the catalogue cover. It's designed so that the student handing it out can highlight their name - nice concept right?

Josiah's project, called "Food for your thoughts," explores food as a social urge and also cleverly initiates relationships within the design industry. Josiah sent out a placemat invitation to London designers asking them if he could buy them their favourite lunch in return for some discussion.  He then created beautiful modular lunch trays with each designer's food choice, which look too pretty to eat in my opinion.  You can see mine above: "soup with grated cheese."  Compare that to Liv at It's Nice That: "A bunch of stuff all over a table including an amazing cheeseboard, some Italian cold meats and really good salty butter. And cornichons and some homemade chutney. And some amazing bread."

Happy Friday MLE!

Just want to announce that the gin we designed is now not only available in Sweden, but also here in the UK. So, if anyone wants to try it out, please do. Should be on the shelves at Sainsbury's "affluent" stores. Which is not the one in my hood.

Hey Suzan!

First of all, gotta say I loved your last post, so brilliant!  So as Harpreet always sends you inspiring knitting links, she always sends me food ones. The latest link she sent me was about japanese artist Shoko Masunaga, who uses butter as an art form. Using toast as his canvas and only edible ingredients and colorings, he makes colorful little abstract paintings with... well, fat. We always knew butter was tasty, but here it's made rather pretty, too. By way of this discovery, I think it's also worth mentioning the bookstore that sells the butter book, artbookstand.com. Interesting little online shop based in LA, that is "inspired by the quirky personal libraries of imaginative individuals". Lots of very nice publications and films.

I'm off to Gränna for the holidays as of tomorrow! I'm feeling very lucky, because if there ever was a place that resembled a real Christmas village, this would be it. Talk soon!!

Hi Suzan!

Ok, even though this is kind of gross, I can't resist. A silk bacon scarf. So ridiculous it's brilliant. Doesn't it look real? I think it looks so real, you would almost expect it to feel greasy around your neck. And then there's the name –  you don't get puns any better than that! Hmm, maybe a Christmas present for you, my friend? I know how much you love bacon. Mmmmmm.
